DIRTY OLD MAN ILLUSTRATES DUSTY OLD BOOK From the ‘you’ve got to be kidding me files’ comes word of Robert Crumb’s latest project, an illustrated version of the biblical book of Genesis. It was quite jarring to find out that the Godfather of underground comics would touch upon such a subject. He does so without satire or cynicism, staying as literal and true to the text as possible. Fittingly enough, however, the scripture covers many moments of carnality and human weakness, a topic often seen in Crumb’s better known work.
