DEMAND & SUPPLY - PONG BEER!!!
Here is a classic case, where a rampant demand has finally led to a wel thought out supply. Beer pong is no longer just a college rite of passage; it has become the “ice-breaker” at every BBQ, at every house party or any event involving alcohol in mass consumption and people. Bars have welcomed it in their establishments and there are even tournaments dedicated to the game that relies on skill, the love of chugging beer, imparied judgement and most of all bragging rights!

A Pennsylvania-based brewery has created Pong Beer—booze created specifically for “use during drunken table tennis!” Capitalizing on the $20 million dollar beer pong market —- THAT’S RIGHT $20 Million dollars! The brand hopes to succeed among true players and fanatics, offering  specials like the “rack pack” which include 30 cans and two free ping pong balls.

As if Budweiser, Coors Light, Pabst Blue Ribbon, or Natty Light weren’t already good (and cheap) enough for the game… Pong Beer commands instant brand recognition and soley caters to the market. This is not only smart, it’s actually genius… There you have it folks, this is a classic case worth studying, demand and supply… And it’s about this moment in time that you say to yourself - “Why didn’t I think of that?”

WINDOWS’ NEWEST LOGO - BY PENTAGRAM

1. We wanted the new logo to be both modern and classic by echoing the International Typographic Style (or Swiss design) that has been a great influence on our Metro style design philosophy. Using bold flat colors and clean lines and shapes, the new logo has the characteristics of way-finding design systems seen in airports and subways.

2. It was important that the new logo carries our Metro principle of being “Authentically Digital”. By that, we mean it does not try to emulate faux-industrial design characteristics such as materiality (glass, wood, plastic, etc.). It has motion — aligning with the fast and fluid style you’ll find throughout Windows 8.

3. Our final goal was for the new logo to be humble, yet confident. Welcoming you in with a slight tilt in perspective and when you change your color, the logo changes to reflect you. It is a “Personal” Computer after all.

LOGO FRIDAYS - GENTLEMEN THEEVES!
Running a design studio is hard, especially a sucessful one that still retains its boutique environment and grassroots approach. With that said, keeping up with our social media communities, gets more and more difficult as interns come and go, new suitable team members are hard to find, and the workload increases. Today marks the day, that we’ve been building up to for quite some time. Every Friday we will be posting all of our recent logo projects, along with other past logos we have created. We are so fond of sharing content from other sources, to keep our design community informed, we rarely showcase our own work.

Today’s logo is from a new client, called GENTLEMEN THEEVES. The logo is for a new apparel and accessories brand, particularly specializing in modern pocket watches and denim jackets. The task was a pretty difficult one —- our influences ranged from William Shakespeare, Doc Holliday, to Jack The Ripper. How do you take the gentlemen look of the 19th century and apply it todays indie rock scene? The result… A Seal with an anotomically correct Skull wearing a top hat and impaled by some fancy daggers. We tried to really capture the look and feel that is a GENTLEMEN THIEF —- a cunning, charismatic, daring and dangerous high society socialite. The goal was also to make this seal seem very secret society like; think skulls, free masons etc —- ultimately our end goal was to make it EMOTIVE.
