Important Reminder: Design Should Not Dominate People. It Should Help People
Just a good reminder why we do it.
Here at FutureAmazing, we are always amazed (no pun intended) at what goes on in a designer’s mind during the creation process. Print is one thing, but to create a three dimensional product that will be tested and scrutinized in the real world is another beast altogether. Take this new product from Method Laundry. The designer goes through the entire process, including the design of the dispenser on top, to the shape. It’s a very interesting read and makes the rest of us appreciate well thought out design.
Here at Future Amazing, some of our staff have a penchant for conspiracy theories and US Government speculation. The image of a top secret US plane just tickles our fancy. From a design standpoint, it looks like it heralds back to the secret spy planes of the 50’s and 60’s.
INDUSTRIAL DESIGN TO THE EXTREME The packaging design for Number 4 High Performance Hair Care carefully treads the line between science and art. It expresses to the potential buyer its heritage in Swedish graphic design and Japanese Minimalism. It is carefully and thoughtfully created and designed. “Number 4 High Performance Hair Care was founded with the mission to create a hair care line that runs parallel to fashion, science, art, music and industrial design creative cycles. The Number 4 package design is inspired by the crossover between the essence of Swedish graphic design and the complex industrial minimalism of Japanese package design.”
